How do I pick a therapist?

Research indicates that (more than a specific set of techniques) therapeutic outcome is most influenced by "goodness of fit" betwee the client and therapist. So my advice is to go with your gut! Ask yourself: do I feel I can trust this person? Can I open up to them about what is going on? Will I respect their input?


What can I expect at a first session?

I recommend you use the links to the right and complete your forms before arriving (so we don't use any time on paperwork). Take a deep breath and do your best to relax! I don't anticipate the first session to be "therapy" as much as a chance to get to know you (and for you to know me!) This will be a chance for you to bring any questions you have for me, and an opportunity for me to get to hear what brings you in. We will work together to make sure I understand what your goals are and how I can help.

How much does a session cost?

A session is a 50 minute hour and my fee is $130.


Do you bill insurance?

My clients pay the fee at time of service. For those who wish to submit for insurance reimbursement, I offer a document called a "superbill" to submit to your insurance company. If available I offer a complimentary electronic billing service to your insurer of choice. Please make sure you have contacted your insurer ahead of time to arrange for out of network care. Insurance payments come with their own risks. I believe in educated consumers! (I would want to know if I were you). Please take a look at this blog to see what I mean.
